Memory lane... the historic Dún Laoghaire - Holyhead ferry route:
In February, 2015 Stena Line announced that their longstanding route between Dún Laoghaire and Holyhead would not resume in 2015 and was being permanently discontinued. The last sailing operated on 9th September, 2014. Expressions of interest were sought by the Dún Laoghaire Harbour Company for a replacement service however no service materialised. The former ferry terminal is just across the road from the railway station's rear entry/exit.
