Travelling to Aberystwyth/ Cardigan/ Aberaeron/ Lampeter etc... ?
It is possible to travel from Fishguard Harbour to Aberystwyth by rail. However the rail journey is very circuitous and entails travelling via either Cardiff or the Heart of Wales Line to Shrewsbury for the Aberystwyth train. It is significantly quicker to travel there by bus as follows:
* Catch the 410 (Richard Brothers) from Fishguard Harbour to Fishguard Bus Terminus (this connects with the daytime ferry).
* From Fishguard Square take the TrawsCymru route T5 which serves towns and villages along the route to Aberystwyth such as Newport, Cardigan, Aberporth, New Quay, Aberaeron etc...
For Lampeter change bus at Aberaeron.
A Sunday service also operates on route T5 during the Summer but there is no bus between Fishguard Harbour and Fishguard Bus Terminus (or vice versa) on Sundays. Take a taxi (list available at ferry terminal).
A summary of suitable bus times for travelling to/from the ferry are shown below. The file is also available for downloading/printing.
