The Rosslare - Roscoff sea route (Irish Ferries) closed at the end of the Summer 2018 season. It was reopened in 2020 by Brittany Ferries but for 2021 the route will operate Rosslare - Cherbourg. This page serves as a record of the route.
Spring 2020: Brittany Ferries are introducing a route from Rosslare to Roscoff. Foot passengers will be accommodated on the route. The service was originally due to commence in March but (due to the Coronavirus Pandemic) will now commence on Monday 15th June 2020 ex Rosslare with the first sailing ex Roscoff on Tuesday 16th June, 2020.
Sailings from Rosslare will be at 23.30 every Monday until 26th October inclusive arriving Roscoff at 15.30hrs Tuesdays (on certain Tuesdays the arrival time will be later - please refer to the sailing schedule on the Brittany Ferries site).
Sailings from Roscoff will be at 19.00hrs every Tuesday from 16th June until 27th October inclusive, arriving at Rosslare at 08.00 every Wednesday. All sailings will be operated by the ship Kerry.

Rosslare - Roscoff
The Rosslare - Roscoff route is 23 years young in 2018!
IMPORTANT NOTICE: On 18th December 2018 Irish Ferries announced that they wish to inform their customers that they are unlikely to operate a service between Rosslare and Roscoff in 2019. Irish Ferries continue to keep this situation under review.
The Rosslare to Roscoff sea route is operated by Irish Ferries. It is a seasonal route with one or two sailings per week in each direction between May and September (inclusive) . All crossings are overnight sailing in the evening and arriving the following day mid-morning. Oscar Wilde is the ship on the route and has a wide array of facilities and amenities.
Sailing times
Ex Rosslare:
The first sailing of the 2018 season from Rosslare to Roscoff departs Rosslare at 17.30 hrs on Friday 4th May 2018 arriving in Roscoff at 11.00 the following morning.
On all other dates that sailings operate departure from Rosslare is at 16.00hrs arriving in Roscoff at 10.30/10.50/11.00/11.15 the following morning. Please check the Irish Ferries website for dates, exact arrival times and any possible changes.
The last sailing of the 2018 season is on Thursday 13th September ex Rosslare. The 2019 sailing schedule will be available on the Irish Ferries website in due course.

The first sailing of the 2018 season from Roscoff to Rosslare departs Roscoff at 18.30hrs on Saturday 5th May 2018.
On all dates that sailings operate departure from Roscoff is usually at 18.30hrs arriving in Rosslare at 11.00 the following morning.

By rail from Roscoff
The ferry arrives in Roscoff between half ten and a quarter past eleven in the morning. Roscoff railway station (Gare de Roscoff) is a walk of approximately twenty minutes.
Convenient train times: a train departs Roscoff at 11.58 on Saturdays and 12.16 hrs Mondays to Fridays for Morlaix. If one wishes to spend some time in Roscoff there is also a later train. The Roscoff to Morlaix journey takes 47 minutes.
There is a daily afternoon train from Morlaix to Roscoff in good time for the 18.30 sailing.
Please see the timetables below for full train times. Note that a number of buses operated by TER Bretagne (the railway company) also ply the route between Roscoff and Morlaix. These buses are detailed in the Roscoff-Morlaix fiche horaire (FH23) on the TER Bretagne site.
Connections: Onward connections on TGV and regional trains are available at Morlaix.
Scenery: Leaving Roscoff there is a stretch of line near the coast. A few minutes after St-Pol-De-Léon station the line traverses Viaduc de la Penzé.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: In early-June 2018 a storm caused a section of the railway line in the Saint-Seve area to collapse. Rail services between Roscoff and Morlaix (and vice versa) are suspended indefinitely and replaced by buses.
